The Original Material, a Modern Silhouette
Whooga was founded in 2003 by people who grew up wearing sheepskin boots in Australia. We believed the original material deserved a modern silhouette — and we have been making them by hand in Melbourne ever since.
The Material
Every Whooga boot starts with A-grade double-face Australian merino sheepskin. Double-face means the wool and suede are one continuous hide — there are no glued linings, no laminated layers, no fabric backings. What you feel on the inside and what you see on the outside is the same piece of skin.
We use A-grade hides because wool density and hide strength matter. Dense merino fleece traps air in micro-pockets for natural temperature regulation — warm when it is cold, breathable when it is not. The hide itself is thick enough to hold its shape through years of daily wear. Not all sheepskin is equal, and grade matters more than any other variable.
The Making
Our boots are hand-stitched in a Melbourne workshop by our manufacturing partner, Jumbo Ugg Australia. Every pair is shaped on traditional lasts, reinforced with double stitching on every seam, and finished with moulded rubber soles. From raw hide to boxed pair, each boot passes through over 80 steps — hide selection, tanning, cutting, stitching, lasting, soling, aqua repel treatment, and final inspection.
This is not imported product with an Australian label. The full process happens under one roof in Melbourne.
The Fit
Sheepskin moulds to your foot. A snug first wear becomes a custom fit within days as the dense wool compresses to match your exact foot shape. The boot gets better, not worse, with age — conforming, softening, and developing a fit that is yours alone. This is how sheepskin has always worked, and it is the reason people who wear real sheepskin rarely go back.
The Model
Whooga is sold direct from our workshop to you. No wholesale accounts, no department stores, no middlemen — just the people who make the boots and the people who wear them. This is how we have worked since 2003, and it is the only model that lets us focus entirely on the product.

Every style uses the same A-grade sheepskin and construction standard.
